CASHEW, Our cashew nuts are harvested by guided farming techniques in two main areas: Muntigunung and Flores.

Once harvested, all the cashews are collected in Muntigunung where they are cold cracked, peeled and packaged by our local villagers.  We have learned that cashews cracked cold – without the use of machines and forced heating – retain a lot more of its health benefits as well as providing maximum employment for the community.

All natural and with the practice of leaving the smallest carbon footprint as possible, our cashews are a true treat that carries the love and investment from these local farmers straight to you. It doesn’t get more local than that.

Currently, we provide a variety of roasted cashew nut flavors:
•  Natural
•  Garlic & salt
•  Spiced chili & lontar palm sugar
•  Curry
•  Thai Herbal Mixed

ROSELLA, is a perennial plant species of Hibiscus, which can grow easily in dry areas such as Muntigunung.

Many studies have been done on rosella as a result of it being a common age – old home – remedy in various regions around the world (South America, Africa and parts of SE Asia).

Rich in vitamins A, B1, C, D, minerals and fiber and is known to improve blood circulation and strengthen the immune system.

Rosella flowers have a unique taste and texture. They have a pleasant tart-sweet flavour – Sweeter than rhubarb, but more sour than strawberry, their flavour hints at lemon, cranberry and apple that goes well in salads, jellies, red sauces, jams, cordials, syrups, fruit teas and wine.

DRIED MANGO, Our dried, fibreless mangoes come from the local markets and prepped to meet the  demand of a more health conscious Bali. With minimal preservatives and no added sugar,  our dried mangoes are an amazing natural snack.

PALM SUGAR, Our 100% pure palm sugar is produced from the sap of the lontar palm, which is grown locally and collected by the people of Muntigunung.

Lontar palm sugar is a nutrient-rich, low-glycaemic crystalline sweetener that looks, tastes, and dissolves almost exactly like sugar, yet it is completely natural and unrefined.

Processed by hand in our development centre, it is cooked and air dried to form a crystalline sugar that is rich in key vitamins, minerals and phytonutrients, including potassium, zinc, iron, and vitamins B1, B2, B3 and B6, and has the lowest calorie content of all natural sugars, making it a perfect option for people with diabetes and a healthy alternative sweetener.

MORINGA OLEIFERA, Moringa plant is beginning to gain more popularity as a new “superfood” for its highly nutritious profile and powerful anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and tissue-protective properties among many other health benefits.

HAMMOCKS, Our high quality Muntigunung Hammocks are handcrafted with care.

Made with a strong local and social touch, each hammock is helping to create jobs, provide access to water, healthcare and education.

HANDMADE BAG, Hand Crafted bag with high quality material, the material using Kain Endek (traditional bali fabric) handle and crafted by poeple in Bali.

WOVEN LONTAR BASKET, Our Hand Woven lontar gift boxes, otherwise know as oleh-oleh, are produced by one of our local cooperatives as part of Muntigunung Development and Livelihood Program. Our unique and beautifully Woven Lontar Baskets are handrafted from our local Lontar palm.

The Lontar Palm is a tall fan palm, traditionally used for centuries in Bali for its high yielding & sustainable hard wood and sweet sap that is a source of palm wine and sugar, and its leaves are used for thatching and weaving.

Our lontar baskets are handcrafted with care and incorporate beautiful and unique interwoven designs ensuring a truly personalised touch.

Beside the product above, we also offering Trekking Tour to Muntigunung.

TREKKING, The villages of Muntigunung are located on the intensely arid northern slopes of Bali’s mountains with dramatic views of Mount Agung, the island of Lombok and the towering silhouette of Rinjani.

With an extreme 8 month dry season Muntigunung’s impoverished villagers struggle to grow enough crops to survive, and with the influx of tourism over the last few decades many have chosen to go begging with their children in Ubud and the large beach resort of Kuta. In an effort to provide a more sustainable future for the villagers a Swiss backed NGO has constructed 11 buildings with expansive roofs to collect and store rainwater in specially designed tanks to provide a year-round water supply. These roofs also provide a place for the villagers to make handicrafts and process crops such as rosella tea and cashew nuts which are sold to the large hotels on the south coast.

The younger members of the community have also been trained as guides to lead treks from the top of Lake Batur’s caldera down to the plains of the north coast. The trek sarts with an ascent for around an hour to a vantage point with spectacular views of the entire caldera. The trail then descends towards Bali’s north coast with time to stop off at the villages to see the buildings where the locals are now working.

Not only does this employment provide a regular source of income, but it also ensures that the families stay in their village and their children can attend school.
